Marsh Infant and Nursery School

Could you be a School Governor

Could You Be a School Governor?

Our school is a special place where children grow, learn, and discover their potential. Behind the scenes, a team of school governors helps to make sure the school is the very best it can be.

School governors don’t run the day-to-day teaching—that’s the role of our brilliant staff—but they do play a vital part in shaping the school’s future.

Governors:

  • Support the headteacher and staff with encouragement and challenge
  • Help decide on priorities and ensure resources are used wisely
  • Make sure every child has the best opportunities to succeed
  • Represent the voices of parents, carers, staff, and the community

Becoming a governor is a chance to use your skills and experiences to make a real difference. You don’t need to be an expert in education—just someone who cares about children’s learning and wellbeing, and is willing to listen, learn, and work as part of a team.

In return, you’ll gain new knowledge, develop valuable skills, and know that you’re helping to shape the future of our school.

If you’d like to be part of something rewarding and impactful, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact the Chair of Governors at

Together, we can help our school continue to grow and thrive.
