What parental support is available if my child has SEND needs?

  • Your child’s class teacher is always willing to discuss your child’s progress or any concerns you may have. We openly encourage parents and carers to share information about what is working well both at home and at school so that consistent successful strategies can be used.

  • The SENDCO and head teacher are available to meet with you to discuss your child’s progress or any worries you may have at any time.

  • All information from outside professionals will be shared with you by the person involved directly, or where this is not possible, in a report or by the SENDCO.

  • Individual Education Plans will be discussed together with the class teacher and SENDCO and will be reviewed with your involvement each term.

  • A communication book or play plan agreement between home and school may be used when this has been agreed to be useful for you and your child.

  • Parent Evenings will give you information about how your child is progressing.
